I’ve never followed Donald Trump.
But today, his content landed at the top of my Facebook feed.
Why? Probably because I’ve been sharing posts from the California Governor.
That’s all it took for the algorithm to flip the switch.
This isn’t new. But it’s still unsettling.
Social media platforms don’t just show us what we like.
They test us.
They steer us.
Sometimes they even provoke us - offering up outrage as engagement bait.
You think you’re in control… until the feed reminds you who’s really watching.
The algorithm is not your friend.
It’s not neutral.
And if you’re a woman, a whistleblower, or someone speaking out about power - it can become just one more tool used to shape what people see about you.
This is the quiet side of digital persuasion - the part that doesn’t announce itself, but chips away at your narrative until it no longer belongs to you.
